Setting up the backend for a greenfield holiday rental platform that is intended to be deployed in the Middle East. My task was building the server-side infrastructure that supports the frontend clients and handles data processing, storage, and retrieval. I had to ensure a well-designed backend system so that the startup can seamlessly handle increased user traffic, growing databases, and evolving business needs.
The compliance system was considered to be the core application of the company. It was a Monolithic application targeting .Net Framework using legacy technologies. My task was transforming this application from Monolithic to Microservices architecture, and to create a more efficient and reliable system that can better meet the needs of the business.
I was responsible for building the onboard passenger information system. This is the system that manages the communication back and forth between the train and the backend while the train is on the move. The intention is to keep the passengers onboard updated while they are on the train, updates can be things like, journey route, stops, delays, connections or general trip info.
At Aetna, I have been involved in several projects which was great opportunity to learn about the medical insurance domain. I have worked on some projects with other team members and I also have taken a complete responsibility for some other projects.
