Hi, I’m Romain! I have always been driven by the urge to understand exactly how things work under the hood. My journey started with a strong focus on pure software. During my Bachelor's, I invested my energy in building a rigorous foundation in Computer Science. I loved the logic of it and worked hard to become a better programmer, mastering algorithms, backend architecture, and clean code practices. My time at KU Leuven changed my perspective. While my Master's title mentions Distributed Systems, my real passion emerged during my electives in Embedded Systems. It just clicked. I realized that while I enjoy building software, I find it much more rewarding when that software interacts directly with hardware. I prefer managing memory and optimizing performance over working with high-level cloud abstractions. Today, I am positioning myself at the intersection of these two worlds. I am not just an embedded enthusiast; I am a software engineer who brings architectural discipline to the hardware level. I am currently honing my skills in C++ and Python, focusing on how to build reliable systems for the IoT and Edge Computing space. I am looking for a Summer 2026 Internship. I want to join a team working on Embedded Software or IoT where I can contribute, learn from experienced engineers, and tackle low-level technical challenges.
