Yoann Schmitz

Over 18 years of experience running IT, telecom and software projects. My career has gradually shifted from hands-on technical work to full project leadership: I started on the ground at a Belgian ISP, then took on progressively larger projects, first as an employee, later as an independent consultant and co-founder of a B2B cloud telephony business. I lead projects end to end — scoping with sponsors, planning, budget tracking, coordinating both internal and external technical teams, and reporting back. The assignments I take on span software development (VoIP, EDM, cloud platforms), infrastructure rollouts, and the hosting of sensitive data subject to strict regulatory requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001). Equally comfortable in a structured environment (V-model, classic project governance) and in more iterative setups. My dual technical and commercial background helps me bridge the gap between IT teams, business stakeholders and vendors. Currently available for a Project Manager or PMO mission on a freelance basis.
