Pietro Bonanno

Master's degree in Ingegneria Informatica in the ancient 2001, I worked in the data oriented applications' world partly thanks to my master thesis about the (not so much widespread, at the time) object-relational mapping pattern for a young aviation company. Being my main interest, I kept to work in the field of backend & database systems. After a 2 years long pleasant experience at Nuovo Pignone SpA plant in Florence (now GE Gas&Oil) as analyst & PL/SQL developer for Oracle Applications' ERP tasks, in 2004 I moved to an R&S company based in Florence, Bassnet srl, where I designed & developed backend (and sometime frontend) systems for our legacy business oriented CMS and Digital Terrestrial Television services. Here I started to use and love Java, alongside Spring Platform and Hibernate and never looked back. From 2013 to 2020, I worked for Moneynet Spa, a Payment Institute, where I designed, developed and maintained JEE backend services for acquiring & payment facilitation. In 2020 I did the most exciting move in my professional life, relocating to Brussels to work for European Commission as a freelance. As for now, best choice ever made! My toolbox comprises Java, Kotlin, Spring Framework, Maven, Hibernate, BPMN and UML. Sometime I have some fun with frontend stuff, like Angular and JQuery.
